Livcool is made from a single herb, the Kalmegh leaves or known locally as the Hempedu Bumi (Andrographis paniculata) that provides relief for disorders caused by the deficiency in the liver function.
This rainforest herb, also known as the `King of Bitters', has long been considered as the wonder remedy by the traditional Chinese and Indian healers. Traditional healers have long noted the significance of this plant in treating ailments due to the imbalance of the yin and yang in the liver. In Chinese traditional healing, the Hempedu Bumi known as Chaun Xi Lian has been long prescribed for those who suffer from ailments related to the liver like hepatitis, liver damage or poor liver function. The poor liver function is often due to the yang hyperactivity in the liver that in turn causes excessive body heat and toxicity.
An active constituent of the herb known as andrographolides provides strong antioxidant properties that serve as natural liver tonic. It helps to calm the liver by suppressing the yang. This is probably why the traditional healers have found the Hempedu Bumi being potent in dealing with symptoms related to poor liver function, especially excessive body heat that gives rise to persistent cough, dry throat, and ulcers in the mouth and tongue, constipation, headache or dizziness, irritability and rapid pulse.
Hempedu Bumi also prescribed for high blood pressure and chest pains. When the liver functions efficiently, it helps to overcome many other health problems for example the symptoms associated with diabetes. Herbal remedies are a better option in rehabilitating the liver and in providing holistic remedy for the whole body. It is a safer alternative compared with the conventional medication that over the long term can further erode the function of the liver due to high toxicity.
